Rules Don't Apply ?

Rate this Entry
Here's a new one I never encountered before :

Had a guy respond to an ad I submitted; liked his pic & told him so. During our ensuing communication, I instinctively fell back on my habit of double-checking his marital status although the 1st specification in the ad was " be single."

Sure enough, he was married; said he was on the " down low," whereupon I pointed out said specification. He became agitated , asking me to make an exception because he was married to a man ! He asked, " Does that help any ? "

Huh?

Apparently......his definition of the DL meant cheating & not being in the closet.

In the context of the recent Supreme Court ruling concerning gay marriage & the definition of marriage..........? It's ok to bend the rules based on personal interpretation ?

Concur, if you're married then cheating is cheating. If on the other hand you and a s.o. agree to be open and are honest with one another I do not see it as cheating.

You suggested, pepper, via your opinion regarding Biblical interpretation that is still adultery. We can agree to disagree over our respective opinions of how we each see the definition of it. I will not challenge the socially accepted definition but disagree with it. And yes there is a difference between challenging and disagreeing. Not challenging allows one to respect what is disagreed.

In this case the guy was blatantly cheating. Hope you have better luck and do not continue to run into such jerks. I would love to sit watching Venus of an evening with you, maybe snuggled in your lap. Of course, my wife would know before hand and need to 'sign off' in a manner of speaking. Do not see her having any problem with it as long as she knew. That is our case though and not everyone obliges such openness.

Better luck hon. You deserve it. :)

Truth is Void, I continue to run into such jerks no matter my efforts to exclude them. Like I said, I've gotten into the habit of double-checking because of my experiences with these guys who think they can side-step my request to " be single. "

i'm wondering if this is what i can expect once i start finding guys.........i'd be ok with a married guy if his wife was ok with it though i'd wanna meet her just to make sure we're ok with each other. but going behind someone's back is not something i wanna get involved with.

I'm sorry you keep running into these self centered men. I've noticed also that many people don't care to read your profile or care about what you are looking for. If you're looking for someone local there are people who message you from another state or even Spain. If you state you're not looking for a couple, couples message you. You can't win.

We just gave up. First, the single men we did find were single for a reason. Most had equipment that didn't work, or had no idea how to use what they had. The good ones were too slutty to feel good about inviting in to our lives.
Our last ad, as usual brought a trove of married guys. One guy who did read the ad apologized for being married but convinced us that his marriage is dead, they are just waiting until the last kid leaves to split. We spent an evening with him and at the end of it we decided 'what the hell'. So we broke our main rule and there is a woman out there who is married to a guy having sex with a couple. Neither of us feels great about it but we decided that this is his problem, not ours. Zero emotional attachment, just fucking. At least he can fuck.
