Would it be too early to suggest a group mixer? Maybe meeting up at a bar or restaurant?
It's a good idea, but maybe we should maybe wait till we've a few more members. As of now the group is still kind of small. How about a bar/grill like chili's or tx. roadhouse as not all of us may be into the bar scene, but those that wanted to could still have a drink and a bit of the bar environment. But mostly we should wait because I won't be finished moving to dfw for another month or so
I would be in if we could do in somewhere centally located in DFW so the drive is not to far for anyone.
Centrally located would be Arlington, probably somewhere around 6 flags, I would think? Plenty of advance notice would be great too, as we are out of town most of the time. Not that I would try to make you guys wait, or anything, as we never know when we will be in town! Maybe once we get a few more members we can even start a monthly thing, or at least maybe quarterly?

Oh, yeah, it would, there is a mall over there with a Carrabbas, if anyone likes italian. They have a bar as well.
Which mall? The only Carrabas I know is on what I call "restaurant row" in Grapevine off 114 and William D Tate. That might be a bit far north for our more southern people. But it is up to them. Carrabas does have excellent food. There is also Texas Land & Cattle at 121 and 183 and there are quite a few nice ones along 121 just north of Cheek Sparger, including Rio Mambo, Mac's, J.R.'s, and others.

Oh ok. Even though I live near northeast, I haven't been there in years. That is definitely centrally located.

I'm game, it would be a lot of fun! Let's make it happen, somewhere central, maybe with hotel options nearby just in case we don't want to drive home after a few drinks
Set the date and I will attempt to be there as long as I don't get called out of town on a job.
This would be really cool. I havent been able to find a group local til now and to see a get together being set up is great.
I have my kids on weekends (every weekend, usually), but if a date is set in advance, I will try to be there.
