Well, if you never come back what difference does it make then?
It makes one hell of a lot of difference.
To begin with, you are apparently stuck for the rest of your life with everything you ever posted in here. If anyone Googles the nic that you use in here, ALL your past posts are referenced. That has caused me no end of trouble in the past, and I have little doubt that it will continue to do so in the future, and I would dearly love for all that to go away.
I suppose that it would not be such a problem were it not for the fact that a great deal of the people in here just happen to be some of the most rude, intolerant, hateful, narrow-minded people that you will ever meet... If you disagree with them or do not conform to their ways of thinking, they just scathe you with their attacks.
In addition to that, much of the posts in here get extremely crude and downright vulgar.... revealing intimate details about the participant's personal sex life that I, and perhaps a great deal of other people, most probably find extremely embarassing and in poor taste. That would be perfectly ok if it were a private site accessable by membership only. But it is not. It is an open site accessable by anyone including underage children. And I seriously believe that it causes people to believe that we are all some sort of sex-crazed maniacs.
It took me a long time in my life to come to terms with my bisexuality, and I thought that I had managed it, and became comfortable and happy with it. But since having dealt with some of the people in here... I am not so sure anymore.

I thought that once you deleted a profile, it simply got rid of your profile, not all of the history that was put into it. So, wouldn't you still be able to google things up anyway?

I generally try to avoid "throwing stones", but it would appear as thought I am not extended the same courtesy. Unless I am missing something, it looks as though a very large boulder just got thrown at me.
And it was not "nicey said"... It was actually terrible sentence construction.
There I go "throwing stones" again.

If you didn't want others to find your little missives, don't write them, it's that simple. Complaining that people can find what you write here is pretty asinine. Forums are like public bulletin boards. If you put something on a public bulletin board, you can't complain that someone read it.
If you don't want people to read what you write, write in a journal kept in a locked drawer and burn it when it's full.

Well Adam, if you loathe this site so much, and have had such a difficult time with your "Friend" that has told us all about you, then maybe you wouldnt miss us if you found yourself a 'kinder, friendlier' place in which to spout your perpetual grumpiness. Just a thought.

Well i just have to put my 2 cents in here. i have been on here for a little over a month. i have disagree with others opinions, and i have been friendly and not rude. never have i had a rude comment or backlash from it. yes there have been somethings that ppl have written that r rude and vulgar but i do not comment on those ppl. i ignore them. if u are afraid someone will google, why have u used a log in name or real name on the site. if you were concerned at the begining about this u would make steps to prevent this from happening. this is a public site and no one ever lead u to believe it wasnt. and btw can u not delete ur own posts if u do not want them there. and if u were respectful why would u care what other ppl were saying if it was not u that said it. most ppl realize there are lots of assholes on the internet or is this a new concept. sorry if my grammer or spelling offends i am on my cell typing this.

:) You are just the greatest..
However, I suspect that it might just be in your best interest to not associate yourself with me any more... I am reasonably certain that, if you do, this bunch of head-hunters will come after you too. I have little doubt that most of them suffer from some sort of "Guilt by Association" syndrome, and if they persue it, they could make your life very difficult.
So I suppose that taking you to see "Alice in Wonderland" in 3-D is pretty much out of the question right now. However, maybe you could come over and watch it with me when it comes out on DVD. (sans 3-D). I could probably make us some micro-wave popcorn, and I think that I have some Coke or Pepsi or something that I could pour in some plastic cups with some crushed ice, and it would probably seem almost like the real stuff that you get in movie theatres.

If somebody disrupts, or attempts to disrupt, an internet community at least semi-deliberately, then they are a troll. End of story.
If somebody doesn't fit in, then they just don't fit in. They may or may not be a troll. A troll could also fit into an internet community, only to disrupt it (or try) later on.
I don't Adam ever fit in here, and that's kind of sad. :(

The policy concerning deletion of profiles is similar to the one expressed by the Eagles in Hotel California. Check out time is 11:00 am, sharp. Be there or be square.
Alternatively, Drew will probably do it as soon as he gets around to replacing that Robyn Ochs article.
Maybe it's pertinent to ask if your an easy person to get along with. If you are, no problem. If you aren't, life ain't gonna be easy, and no matter where you go things are probably going to be rocky.

how do i delete my profile?
May I be so bold, as to suggest a simple solution, seeing as it is impossible to delete ones profile upon this site.
You remove all your personal details, where you live, date of birth, country etc...everything. If you cannot remove the picture, upload something else..something like a pattern, a flower....whatever and replace the picture already on the ad with this new picture.
When you have changed everything...including email address...which you can, especially create and then cancel...when you have a totally blank details form....then you disable your ad.
The name will remain in the list of members, some of whom, have not visited for a very long time, but there will be no details and no contact email address....assuming you had wanted that originally. Just make sure, that wherever else you go, you use another name.
Problem solved.
