I saw the British version before I saw the North American version(s). I liked the British version much better than the first season of the North American. Giggles-the ending is quite good. Wait patiently and enjoy it. I don't know what exactly that there was about the British version that made it seem better. I don't know if it was because I saw it first or whether the actors and script were better. The storylines were similar but there was something stronger in how the characters were portrayed. There was a more edgy quality. With each season the North American version became more watered down. When the British version ended after (eight to ten programmes?), it left me wanting to know more about the characters and at the same time had a resolution.
Enjoy Giggles.
* I think that there is a bit of Brian in you Giggles....the good part of Brian...lol

I think its just a bit quirky. Russel T Davies is a good writer and likes to portray gay/lesbian characters. I loved all the subtle Doctor Who references lmao! How the hell did they get a K9 .
Did you notice hazel wearing purple. pink and blue in almost every club scene. A subtle hint not lost on me.... I was a bit miffed that we didn't get to see how the Lesbian couple was after? Did they split up? What happened to the baby?
As for stereotypical gay characters QAF is about 10 years old now and alot has change since then. Pretty much all the homophobic scene's in that program just wouldn't happen in the UK now or if they did there would be consequences. That homophobic teacher would have been banned by the local authority for sure and the kids wouldn't have been shouting comments like that in the first place.
There are lots of cool characters popping up on the "cool" side of TV. The L Word. Torchwood. Skins etc etc. Channel 4 would dearly like to bring back QAF but Russell is a busy man at the moment! They have hinted at another program though that could be a spin-off.
The traditional TV channels are a bit crap at it though. I still cringe at that bloke off Coronation Street . Thing is they are always slow to change because of the old folk who watch them.... Christ no one had the internet in Weatherfield years after even broadband took off!
[I dunno whether to be happy at being called Brian or not? Brian is a bit like Stuart in the UK version? Ouch!]
