What is the last thing you would eat...whats your last meal?

Mine Is street tacos Straight from mexico...Pork, beef, turtle, shark, etc. there are so many different kinds, so many unique flavors all based on the same simple recipie. Absolutly brilliant culinary experience.

I would love Oysters and Cold Seafood from across the great waters of our land with a Peri Peri ( Rustic Kitchen), Pink Peppercorn Mignonette (Black and Blue) and Homemade Cocktail Sauce( Summer/Winter) and Sweet Mustard Sauce (Legal Seafoods) and Procesco or ice cold Stoli Elit for a first course.

Chicken livers with onions, pancetta, and prunes with a fine crisp Geuwertismeiner ( Tosca)

Three Cheese bread with a hearty Burgundy ( Amarone)

Caesar Salad with white anchovies ( the restaurant at the Watergate in DC)
Washington, DC) (Silver Oak Chardonnay)


Rack of Lamb with a Mustard Rosemary Panko Crumb (( L'Auberge) (Aussie Chardonnay or a Chilean Malbec)

Sautéed spinach with garlic cream, Pomme Anna ( Fancy sliced potatoes with fresh thyme and salt and pepper) ( Fruscati in San Fran)

ah...NOW DESSERT


Let me think. Since this would be my last meal...and since I have been THE most fortunate woman woman to have met some of the best people from this site..YES in person....

If I had to choose dessert...say a person...warm and tender..perhaps drizzled with fine chocolate and topped with whipped cream.............
but who?

Bear, Bree, Peter, Hill, Maslow, Rumple, HEW,Frust,Sparks, Angelina, TX, Randy,Thong, WIllby, Slip, FLounder (opps babe wanted a beer) and SO many others.

Guess the best thing about food is the joy that one gets from sharing it with others.

Guess I should have clarified my above comment..I am not a glutton by any means...I am an event planner and caterer and it is my job to search out and explore new and interesting food venues all across the country as I have clients in Boston, New York, Kansas City, Santa Barbara and beyond. I guess I am like Guy Fieri on Dinners, Drive In and Dives..just a taste her or there.

A pot of home made Korean kim-chi, made with cabage from my garden.
I hate the stuff but first I would have to grow the cabage and then the kim-chi would have to ferment. This should take about a year plenty of time to work on a reprieve.

Interesting question. My wife is an excellent cook and after 43 yrs. knows what I like and how I like it. When she prepares an especially good meal I tell her, "AH! Another death row meal!" I use the term because it's something I would ask for if it were going to be my last meal. We usually saves these extravaganzas for Saturday night or some special occasion.
Typically it would consist of: Start off with a good single malt or two, some creamed herring or a cup of onion soup with her homemade cheese topping, a nice Caesar's or spinach salad, a bone-in prime rib stuffed with garlic cloves, rubbed with olive oil and coarse kosher salt and cooked medium rare on the grill. Also maybe some homemade popovers with honey butter. Choice of fresh vegetable would be crispy green beans with shaved almonds, asparagus or broccoli with hollandaise sauce, brussel sprouts cooked in garlic butter and bread crumbs, cauliflower or peas. Serve with a good Cabernet. For desert, maybe a creme brule and a glass of Chambord.
I've taken pictures of prime rib after it came off the grill because it looked so good. I tried to post one here as an attachment but the file is too big and I don't know how to shrink it.
