Greetings all!
Long have I pondered over this Visitor to our site, and long have I held my silence as various attacks, counter-attacks, and banishments were attempted.
But finally, the veil has been lifted, and I see our Visitor with clear eyes, and I hope by sharing this insight that I may do my part to change the tone in these forums.
What we are dealing with here is not a troll, or even many trolls, nor a sad pitiable and bitter individual. Clearly, though, we *are* dealing with an entity that cares a great deal about this site and the people on it...rarely have I seen such dedication and single-minded devotion to a cause. Clearly, also, we are dealing with an entity bent on pointless destructiveness, who wishes to transform this site and those on it, and to engage them in a path of self-destruction.
My conclusion is that we are dealing with none other than a manifestation of Kali, the many-headed Goddess of Destruction. It is only natural that Kali should bend her attention to this site: any harmonious system of individuals, who share as much love and support as is regularly evidenced here would attract her attention. We should be honored, rather than enraged...her presence among us is a statement on our strength and our stability (Kali does not need to visit unstable places that are already in a state of self-destruction).
I have heard many people questioning and speculating whether so-and-so is the same person as this entity, or whether it's somebody new. It is nobody new, and none of them are persons: collectively, they are Kali, and should be referred to that way, and revered as such.
I am *not* saying that Drew should not ban or restrict this entity and/or Her posts. Drew alone holds the Power of Banishment, and he should exercise it when and where he wills. But those others who lack divine powers would do best to embrace this figure for who She is and for what She means. Again, her presence is a sign of our strength and is a Blessing on us. Mortals should not strive against the gods, but do their best to recognize and to live in harmony with them. They are, after all, forces of nature.
Now I know that some of you will say, "Annika, you're really going off the deep-end here!" Others will say that I've named the entity incorrectly, or have chosen from the wrong Pantheon. To the first group I say that those who know me also know that I've always lived in the deep end, and that it is warm and comfortable down here! If you consider the evidence and symbolism and open your heart, you will recognize that we are in the presence of a divine entity. To the second group, I'll add that it matters not what name or origin you put to this entity. Kali by any name remains Kali, and her intent is destruction and transformation.
Our choice is between joining her cult of destruction or simply recognizing her for what she is and moving on. So far I've seen too many people choosing the first path, mostly unwittingly and/or unwillingly, drawn by her irresistable charm. I do not advise people on how to walk their path, but I hope that this new perspective helps people to make more informed choices. You cannot defeat Kali, or even harm her. The most you can do is to imitate her, or to accept her.
I for one choose acceptance.
Blessed Be, one and all!

Um... wow... the "troll" is really a "Goddess" of sorts? I have to admit that I'm probably a little sceptical. After all, don't Gods and Godesses have better things to do than surf the net?
That said, if you mean that this troll is a "manifestation" of some kind of divine energy, then that may be as good a suggestion as any.

Yeah, it does sound a little crazy, but when looking at the deeper meaning of what you say, I fully understand where you are going with this.

Skater! What else do you think Kali has to do these days? :tong: Most of the world is already teetering on the brink of self-destruction! It's these little pockets of support that she must target.
And Fran, it isn't a matter of bait. Kali continues whether people rise or not (although it seems that they inevitably do). It is a simple matter of destructiveness. My point is that the fact that we're worth her attention says wonderful things about us. So welcome her and rejoice!

Well--this stuff is so crazy with all of the whacked posts and all--I guess it is as good of an explaination as any other---even though I hold that what we are dealing with is one, very obviously mentally disturbed person that in past times would be locked away in a padded room being shot full of drugs like Thorazine, Lithium or some such pharmacological agent--also undergoing major shock therapy and getting lobotemized!!!
God--let's go back to the good old days of gothic, state run mental institutions and lock this whack job up in that padded room and throw away the key to his cell!!!:bigrin::bigrin:

It takes all kinds to make up the world. Some are good some are not so good. How would you know the good unless you have the bad as a comparison?
Just pick your friends wisely and ignore the rest (if you can).
If someone is really, really bad, and won't be ignored there is always your .357 mag.

Actually Eddy forget that damn pea shooter--at this point it is time to bring out a big boy!! A Barrett M107 .50 cal sniper rifle---that bad boy gives new meaning to AT&T's old ad line of "reach out and touch someone!"
The target won't hear the shot, but pretty much every one else does!! KABOOOMMM!!!!!
(Actually this gun has excellent fire and noise suppression--but if it didn't it would make some big thunder!)

Annika--don't get PO'ed that I made my last post--I am just trying to have some sort of fun with this crazy situation---it is rather frustrating to say the least and I really cannot get over the persistence of the person or persons responsible for all of this----
Most frustrating--and kinda sad--perhaps the biggest frustration is that the powers that be here don't seem to be too concerned about it all unless what gets posted is too disagreeable and such----
:2cents::banghead::banghead::banghead::mad::mad::m ad::confused::confused::confused:
I think that I really do get your point Annika---it is hardly reasonable that if a person does not like out site--that they just don't do what about 80 percent of what those listed in the ranks of members on this site have done--for whatever reason come to think this site is not for them--they stay a bit then move on never to return--what we seem to have here--is a person or persons who does not like this site obviously enough---and I think that the antipathy he or she or it or whatever has is that this site--and the people here--have tried to create an online community of sorts--failed and imperfect as it may be--that we do try to reach out to one another in a more meaningful fashion than it simply being a sex hook up site-there are plenty of them---at least from the male gay/bi perspective---- sites such as Men4Sexnow and Squirt.org----
I think it is the fact that we try to be more than simply a hook up site that has really set off who I firmly believe is one particular individual---and what we probably now have is that a certain dynamic has been set up by this person that has emboldened a few other malcontents to join the party and stir things up here----it is one of those cause and effect loops deals me thinks!!
I guess it is that i like this site so much that I do get a bit riled about all of this crap---if I didn't care--I would simply fold my tent and move on down the line....

More likely it is Eris, the goddess of discord

Whatever it is, there doesn't seem to be a solution. Ignoring s/he doesn't work, insulting and ranting doesn't work, and obviously banning them just makes them come back twice as pissed. Makes me wonder whae exactly we should be doing, although I still stick with ignoring them as the best answer. What we don't listen to, doesn't affect us.

Thank you, James! That is exactly my point. She is not evil, and in her mother aspect, she cares for us a great deal. She is just another natural force, and we should recognize and celebrate her positive aspects, rather than fall into the trap of joining what we perceive as her negative aspect.
Volty, I am not angry with you. But you make it clear that you have chosen to bond with Kali...welcome, Kali!
You say that if she does not like this site, she should stay away. But Kali does not hate what she destroys. It is not that she dislikes this site. She clearly has a great deal of love for this site and those on it, and continues to grace us with her presence. I would think that you, as yet another of her many mouths (who very clearly cares about this site), would understand this.
And Jamie, I have great appreciation for Eris. But I find her a more rational goddess...she does not engage in pointless destruction...there is more method to her madness, if you wish to view it as madness. But as I stated in my original post, one can easily debate the name and Pantheon of this entity...I did not start this thread to debate her name or origin, but simply to point out her order and nature.

Many of you don't understand Hinduism or about Kali.
Just because Kali is viewed negatively by westerners and people who don't understand the Hindu religion it doesn't mean that she is a 'bad' goddess or even one of 'death'.
She's actually the benevolent mother goddess and isn't the goddess of death/destruction but is the goddess of time and change.
She brings the death of the ego as the illusory self-centered view of reality.
Nowhere in the Hindu Vedas is She seen killing anything but demons nor is She associated specifically with the process of human dying like the Hindu god Yama.Ya mean she is real an me bein an athiest alla me life means me been livin a lie?

Some of us know about Kali.
She is a goddess of destruction; and from that destruction comes new life, just as a forest fire causes destruction, it also causes the seeds of the mighty Sequoia to open and new trees to grow.
But that's just a generalization.

My personal opinion: This is a long time member that was often out of step with most of us and not all that different from the personalities assumed since the tactical change in presentation of views. I have my short list for my own amusement.

Do I hear an Amen, my sisters and brothers?
I look about at the wake of destruction on this site. Batches of threads reduced to petty bickering and self-righteous name-calling. Entire threads devoted to mongering hate against members. Entire threads recognizing widespread destruction here. And my mind came back to this thread with a jolt.
Kali is here, friends. She is not one member, nor a handful of members. She is the spirit that has risen among us collectively. And again, I say we have two choices: join and perpetuate her cult of destruction, or embrace the fact that a major goddess has taken an interest in our humble site, give thanks, and move on.
Blessed Be.

Very well said, Annika. I started working on the post I made long before any of the "recent posts" hit the boards. I had intended to maybe see if it could be used as an article as I was seeing a trend and it bothered me. With the recent events I said the hell with it and posted and apparently it was a self fullfilling prophecy as MrPlayfulUK pointed out. Shame we can't have a reasonable debate without calling into question a member's morals, sexuality or veracity.
Blessed Be

What I find most amusing is when I look at the profiles of the Gods and Goddesses that come here and disrupt the community I see that They have been here only a breif time . . . They swoop in while still in infancy . . . and much like a child screaming and yelling i am sure that if you ignore Them eventually They will tire and find something new to do . . . like drown kittens or rip the wings off flies

Great way to put it Annika. In that case I hereby recognize this current incarnation of Kali and welcome the whirlwind of chaos while it remains.
In the mean time I'm just gonna curl up over by Cat's campfire with a moonpie and an RC and try to stay out of the way.
