Flounder was involved in a serious motorcycle accident this morning. He is alive and lucid in the hospital. He has few fractures, and will have some down time. I will speak to Mrs. F and get permission to give more detail later. Please keep Flounder in your prayers and thoughts.

Ouch.
Been there; done that. Had my share of broken bones and road rash over the past 27 years of riding.
Our thoughts go out to him to get well soon.

I am home for a brief moment to check on things and emails and get phone numbers. I was shocked to see that this thread had been started.....but the person who started it is the sweetest! Thank you!
Flounder....(do not know all specifics yet) but apparently was cut off by a SUV which then slammed on it's breaks and he flew into the back of her window. He broke it but didn't go in, hit the hwy instead! We spent all day yesterday in the ER. His injuries not life threatening but serious! He took the blunt of the accident to his face. He has many lg lacerations and is stitched all over. He has fractured his sinuses, broke his right wrist (which will require surgery in a week or two after his body has calmed down) and a fractured pelvic bone. He's pretty drugged and not too coharent.
Thank you all for your love and support and please keep him in your prayers!
And yes, the bike is totalled!
This weekend was "Sturgus on the river" here.....but as you all know...our river is WAY beyond where it should be. But when I left him lastnight to come home I saw bikes everywhere and I just wanted to stop them all and say "please becareful, there are so many idiots out there who just don't see you on your bikes" And I'm not saying it's never the bikers fault but it seems to be happening more and more.

hi Mrs. F... we've never spoken, but I used to ride as well, til I got dumped off @ 60mph and lived to tell about it. No more 2-up for me.
Very sorry to hear of Flounder's accident and can certainly relate cause the very same thing happened to us - car in front slammed on brakes and away we went. Hope he recovers smoothly and you take good care of yourself while he is !

Thanks to all who replied, and thanks Mrs. F for giving them the info. I hope Flounder is feeling better.
To the rest of you, I spoke to Flounder and Mrs. F. on the phone this morning. He was lucid and not in as much pain as yesterday. He does have a long road to recovery, but he will, and that is the main thing!
Huggs to him and Mrs. F.

:grouphug::angel::grouphug::angel:Flounder remains in the hospital. Not sure yet on how long his stay will be. He was up for the first time out of bed. They got him a special walker that has a arm plate and handle for his broken right wrist so he can put pressure on it more without hurting it. He got out of the one side and walked around the bed to the other side. It took him 10 min. to do that do to his fractured pelvis. I do not foresee him coming home till middle of week unless he surprises us and is able to walk better and tolerate pain more. His face will always be a good conversation starter now...as the surgeon told him...:(
He's got a long, long road ahead of him and Belle is absolutely correct when she says that being a big burly guy saved his life....IT DID! He would be dead right now if not for his size. Our son is scared to death to look at him..he's seen some pix that I took and it's frightening to a 5 yr. old. And after losing my dad almost 2 yrs. ago now to a horrible accident...it's just too much for the poor kid to understand and deal with.
Flounder and I thank all of you so much for your prayers and thoughts and knowing you are all behind him makes him feel so proud to be a part of this wonderful family here.

For anyone interested in seeing Flounder's pic. I put it on my profile. I didn't want to frighten anyone or make them see it if they did not want too.
While in this pic the left side looks good....it's now swelling alot like the other eye. With fractured sinuses..how could it not. :(
He is in good spirits and says this will not deter him from getting another bike and riding again. However, it was enough to scare the shit out of me in letting him ride one for awhile.
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

Mrs. F--put your foot down and don't let him get another damnable motorcycle---they might be fun but it is really a bit of insanity to run one---while we have to have cars to get around-- riding a motorcycle is sorta like going to a casino and gambling--you might be ahead and making some money for a time---but the house always wins!!! In the case of a motorcycle---you don't lose your shirt--you lose much, much more than that--tell him that to satisfy his need for feeling the wind and all of that--you guys are gonna get something like a Mustang convertible!!
He had his luck with a motorcycle--don't push it---you only get so much of luck in life like he just got with this accident!!

Flounder and Mrs. F, I hope you will be home together soon and recovery goes well. It'll make a great grandkids story!
Your husband will be alright Mrs.F
HighEnergy-Do you have to be so infectious with your heterosexuality and breeder mentality, in your assumptions about someone else's children?
Who is to say that their child/children won't grow up to become homosexual and have no desire to adopt children or reproduce? Or that they'll even be able to reproduce or will want to reproduce even if they are heterosexual?
This is a BISEXUAL site and I didn't go here expecting to see blatant heterosexist philosophies like what you wrote about. Of course you are heterosexual so it's not like you actually even know anything else besides that and what you've seen on Will and Grace and Ellen on TV.
Sorry it just annoys me when people assume that their/every child born is heterosexual and wants to reproduce, or the assumption that if you are heterosexual that you will have kids.

That's weird that you'd post a picture of your husband on this site for everyone to see.
He'll be fine. You should concentrate on him getting better with healing up, surgery, rehabilitation, and later physical therapy instead of on that loser Jo69who you're just in lust with.

I posted the pic of my husband because he has many close friends on here....I also posted it on my profile so you didn't have to look at it if you didn't want too! Nobody made anybody...especially you, look at it!
And you have NO idea what my feelings are for jo69guy....that's what I've been having trouble with dealing with. But I know forsure he is not a "loser" as you keep calling him. Compared to you...nobody is a loser!!!

Thank you, Chook. You don't need to breed to have grandchildren, or children for that matter. Idiot. I have lots of friends who refer to other folk's kids as theirs, and lots of folks who call my children their "own" in taking responsibility for teaching them things. That's a blessing our troll can't imagine, giving a shit about another person, let alone teaching something constructive to the next generation.
