I found this interesting item out on the net:

Got to watch what you do and where I guess---even simply holding hands or kissing can make you run afoul of the law in some places.

I have to wonder about this case. He was given all kinds of warnings including the cop telling him it was illegal. He should not in my opinion, be acting all upset about getting arrested. It sounds to me like he was trying to get arrested. Whether his motivation was simply to draw attention to this absurdity or set up a case to challenge it, I won't try to guess. This is a tried and true method of activism. If you draw attention to a stupid law and get people pissed off about it, you can frequently get it repealed. Alternatively, if you're actually prosecuted, which he wasn't, you can then challenge the law through the judicial system and hopefully have it stricken down. We need more people with the nerve to do this kind of thing.
Now that I think of it he may have just been pissed off and said fuck them they can't tell me what to do.

Of course, that will distract males from buying and playing violent video games. The economy needs all the help it can get. So, no more public displays of affection! Males need to maximize their spending to enhance their aggressive side. While it is probably not contagious, this kissing stuff is free!! Therefore, it should be a crime everywhere. Toss those kissers in jail and see what they get to kiss there.

I don't agree with this, either. He would be right if it was in America. But when you visit a foreign country, you are obligated to obey its laws. Countries outside of North America and western Europe often have very different standards of acceptable behavior. If you don't agree with them, your remedy is to not go there, not to go to that country and disrespect its culture. If the same guy went to Saudi Arabia, would he drink liquor?

Go to some places----like Jamaica---and be two men showing "PDA's" beyod the confines of a resort and it could get ya killed--faster than a heartbeat----by regular folks---and the police won't lift a finger---so just getting arrested would be the least of one's worries---but then---getting arrested in many places around the world other than places like the US, Canada and the UK are nightmares----you might go into one of those jails for something minor--but you sure as hell don't have to come out and stand a good chance that you won't!!
Also--don't go and do any kind of drugs in some places--

They are not --but when you compare them to what else is out there!! Our inmates who file law suits because they can't smoke a cigarette in many jails and prisons now (other inmates who do not smoke file lawsuits when smoking is allowed and they don't want to be exposed to cigarette smoke) or because the administration shuts the cable tv off at 10 pm don't have too much to bitch about since even in France--get incarcerated in many parts of that nation and you get put into a cell that is out of the medieval times.
No matter what--jails and prisons are not places you want to spend much time--at least as an inmante--but then again--I had guys who were "institutionalized"---got out on probation or parole and within days--had gone and robbed a 7-11 or something with a toy or unloaded gun just so they could go back inside and not have to deal with the world outside the bars and razor wire.
They had "three hots and a cot," cable or satelite TV and such without having to "pay" for that--it suits them just fine.
