Im not one to gossip, but this was a really interesting bit of meat.

I was talking to my aunt who is good friends with a woman who used to clean hotel rooms in Halifax. Well a few years back, rock star and ladies man Brian Adams (if your canadian i dont need to say anymore, if not he is the singer of "Summer of 69" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryan_Adams) was doing a show in Halifax and was staying at the hotel that my aunt's friend cleaned at. Well the one morning, my aunts friend went in to clean the room, not realizing anyone was still in the room or that it was Brian Adams room. When she went in, there was Brian Adams in bed with another man. That must have been a shock, as Brian Adams has always been a bit of a ladies man a never been with a man publicly.

I just though it was interesting. And I guess you can never really know who is straight, gay and bi out there. He certainly hides the fact that he swings both ways very well.

After the time I have spent learning about this subject--I have come to the conclusion that far more people than you would ever imagine have same sex partners --that goes for both men and women--and that it is nothing at all new.

"Nothing new under the sun or stars" somebody said that or something much like that though I can't for the life of me remember who it was!!!!

And I say "Good for him!". He's not living in denial AND he has someone to share his bed with!

Brian Adams?? LOL!

I am laughing cuz I went to school with him. (Seriously) I don't know why it strikes me funny...just does. :)

I guess you just never know about people. 'Course even straight sex wasn't invented yet way back then...lol! :tong:

I always liked the song anyways but next time I'll have a bigger smile at the hidden meaning of "The summer of 69".

I don't buy it.

Not that I know who he is, know any of his music, care what his orientation is, or care about his reputation as a famous person; but he's not open as being gay/bi (not that it matters) like some famous people are open about this aspect of themselves, and I think if he were queer we'd know it by now.

It's hearsay/rumor and it seems like almost EVERY celebrity at one time or another in the last 20 years or so, has been accused/labeled as being gay or bi even when they're heterosexual and this causes them to hold press confrences or sue magazines/tabloid publishers to clear their name, and some are accused of being homophobic or closeted for simply saying that they're not gay which is silly IMO.

Even if it did happen I'd think that the maid would have told the tabloids or something.

Also, even if he was sharing a bed with a guy, why does it have to be sexual?

I sleep in the same bed as my born again heterosexual Christian friend all the time, and he knows all about me and is fine sharing a bed with me.

Opening up the chat beyond Bryan Adams:

I used to work in a telephone answering office for a public transport service. Quite a few of the staff were gay or bi. This was at a time I wasn't openly bi.

One of the 'camp' gay lads reckoned that he'd spent the previous night with a star of stage and small screen, who was famous for a string of romantic heterosexual attachments. In fact he still is, even to the extent of recently 'fathering' a child with someone he has now, of course, left. (You can't be macho without fathering a child, can you?)

I still like his music, I rate him as an actor, but assuming this is true I think he's a liar for not being open.

Bisexuality or homosexuality has not lately been a drawback to successful careers, but people who've been outed rather than admit it don't tend to come out of it as well.

Umm... a little clarification, please? It is just Canadians who thought Brian Adams was straight, right?

Cant say for any certainty if its true or not, but I know my aunt wouldnt lie about something like that (shes not the kind of person). I dont know the maid personally, but my aunt claims she is very trust worthy and doesnt doubt her.

I doubt the maid would have told the tabloids. Most decent people wouldnt do something like that, and If it were me I wouldnt know at all how to even being to find the tabloids. Also Im sure the tabloids get all kinds of people claiming to have been witness to things like that with no proof. Without any photos, this info would be useless to the tabloids.

It doesnt affect my views of BA in anyway, or his music. I just thought it was interesting to see how people you would never expect to be bi/gay can surprise you, and how famous people may have a greater need to hide this side of themselves from the public. Or maybe he is open about it, but just doesnt bother bringing it up or using it as a publicity factor like other famous people which is probably the most reasonable thing to do.

It could also very well be that he was sharing a bed with his pal, although the way I understand the story, they were lacking in clothing as far as the maid could tell.

Maybe it is just a rumor, maybe it was a misunderstanding and maybe its true. Either way, its an interesting story. I say Good for you Brian :)

He isn't a liar if he hasn't denied it

Is it just me or does this thread not leave a little nasty taste in the mouth? Whether the man is bi or not and whether he wishes it known is surely his business if he is. I think it Diamond dog is on the mark when he says they could very well merely be sharing a bed. I have and do with several m8s so why not 2 men?

Gossip is a hurtful and dangerous thing and really we should all be careful of what we put about. I know of at least one member of this site outed by gossip and another friend "outed" who is as str8 as a di, and in each case the hurt and disruption to their lives and their loved ones is not something I would wish upon anyone.

Sure we would prefer if everyone was open about who they are but the world isnt that progressive yet and until it is some things we know about others, and certainly some things we think we may know, should just be kept quiet about.

If he is great if not too bad. Actually this may be off topic, but I wish more celebrities (A/list - D/list) would come out. :offtopic:

What a wonderful world it would be :grouphug:
