Anyone seen any data from studies / polls / articles on the real or at least educated guess of how many men suck cock now? Of course it would include gay, bi and straight.

I just wonder if its the old adage that once you notice something, regardless of if it's the cars the same color as yours, shoes, hair...etc...you start seeing it everywhere. Before I started sucking cock I was not aware that is was something very many people did. But now and over the 15 years since I've been sucking I seem to be aware of more and more men that do.

I'm not looking for why, I kinda get that with the cultural changes of the last 20+ years. I'd just like to see if there is any real data on what percent of the population really does it.

Methinks that this is what's giving some folks a lot of fits and making them extremely nervous... because there are no real numbers to be counted. Lots of polls and studies about this but the number of participants are woefully and inadequately small since, in order to compile enough information to base any statistics and findings on, you need people to be willing to talk about this... and a hell of a lot more people than the "usual 100" subjects a lot of polls and studies seem to cite in their results.

True enough, once you become aware of something, it becomes "easier" to see it and you realize that it's been all around you the whole time. Still, you can search the internet for such studies and while they're informative, they don't even come close to telling the whole story about the number of men who suck cock. What I've found interesting is that a lot of these studies involve teenagers and those in their twenties, maybe early thirties at the most. It doesn't even begin to cover the number of older men - guys 40-75 - who are avid cock suckers and no matter why they're sucking all the dicks they can get their mouth around. And if some organization has managed to compile a huge load of data on this, they're not ready - or close to being ready - to reveal the results and even then there are so many cock sucking guys from all walks of life, covering the entire spectrum of sexuality who just aren't gonna tell a stranger about them sucking dick. Ever.

How many men are into sucking dick? A lot of them... and an uncountable number of them. You could be at your local Starbucks - you know, if social distancing wasn't in effect - and standing right next to a male cock sucker... and you wouldn't know it. We assume that all gay men suck cock as a matter of course... but we know that some gay men don't suck cock. You can't count something you can't "see." You'd have better luck trying to find out how many stars are in the sky of how many grains of sand are in a cubic foot of sand and trying to do some math. There is real data... it's just not enough data to paint a more comprehensive picture. There are studies that reveal that a certain percentage of men have had a homosexual experience - but doesn't say what that experience was; again, the age brackets are woefully limited to a specific subset so the number of pre-teen males out there sucking cock goes uncounted... and we "know" that older men, well, they can't even have sex any more so why bother to include them? They are trying hard to quantify this and it's proving to be damned near impossible.

A 2017 Gallup poll concluded that 4.5% of adult Americans identified as LGBT with 5.1% of women identifying as LGBT, compared with 3.9% of men. Excludes guys DL who identify as straight.

Sociologists ignore orientation labels and describe behaviors instead. “Men who have sex with men” is a much larger group, (and includes many guys who identify as “straight” but sometimes have DL sex with other men).

The challenge is this...

Approach #1...if you as a many if he is straight, gay or bi, between 3-10% admit to being gay/bi....

Approach #2...if you ask a large pool of men if they will do something specific TO a man (give head, take anal, kiss, jerk off together), as much as 50% will willingly do it in their lifetime. Something like 75% have admitted to imagining it, but never doing it. Again, it doesnt mean forever, but as part of ongoing fantasy, and/or ongoing experimentation....its alot...

the biggest difference between the 10% and the 50%, is the 40% believe they will lose something if they admit it (wife, family, jobs, religion, friends, political career, promotions, tuition funding, or even "respect"). they will straight up remain hidden to prevent the loss...

You look at the numbers that's been provided here and that they go high level - men who have sex with men but without specifics - and you get an idea of how difficult nailing things down are, that and the numbers don't tell the whole story in this. It's fine to say that 3% to 16% of men have has sex with a man at least once... doesn't say squat about the percentage of men who have had sex with a man more than once, are still having sex with men, and what kind of sex they're having.

They can not get accurate direct national MSM estimates (Men who have Sex with Men), but they can get accurate local estimates in some bigger cities. This study used several different statistical methods to indirectly estimate the population sizes of MSM. And yes, they are talking behavior in the prior 5 years, not distant childhood events. Public health numbers, etc. Not direct polling. They “scaled their estimated MSM population sizes to a meta-analytic estimate of the percentage of US MSM in the past 5 years (3.9%)”.

So, they estimate 3.9% of American men. That makes 6.5 million MSM in the US. Call it 1 guy in 25.

Obviously, the age distribution would not be even.

Only the last five years as of 2016, huh? That misses every guy who's been active beyond those five years and probably misses any guys who were late to the party in 2017 and going forward. I find it odd that they discounted "distant childhood events" and as if they are meaningless and more so when a lot of guys get their first experience at that point in their lives, whether it was a "one time" thing or if they got on the bus and they're still on it today. It still points out the difficulty in compiling really accurate stats and more so if they're not going to sample the entire male demographic along all ages. The estimate of 3.9% is probably a lot higher but they gotta "guess" because, again, how many guys are gonna volunteer that they suck cock (or whatever) and how long they've been doing it?
