We just found out that Doggie passed away doing what he loved... no, not sex, his other favorite. He was escorting a funeral on his motorcycle when he got hit by a car. We had not heard from him in quite some time so we googled him, that's when we learned of his passing.

Well---that surely is one major bummer to hear that--and also that this took place over two years ago now.
All I can say to this is: "Oh Shit!!"
Man---we sure have lost a pretty good number of those who came on here for so long. That is life, though, I do suppose.
Thanks for posting this since you found out about his death.

I think he was one of the first members that greeted me in chat, seemed like a really friendly/nice guy. I am sorry to hear of his passing, I hope he is at peace.

Thanks for posting this information.
I don't recall any of his posts but do recall people like Cat referring to him. The errie thought is that he has been dead for two years and no one that he communicated with was close enough to him to be aware that he had been killed. If the site had a "community" feel to it, it seems to have been reduced in the past few years. Thanks RockGarden for posting and reminding some of those who have moved to another plane of existence.

I remember Doggie Wood very well. He had a marvelous sense of humor and traveled in his work, visiting several of the chatters here. Everyone who knew him, loved him. I notice that he logged on to this site the day before his death.
He once told a hilarious story in chat about himself (putatively) in which he was engaged to a young woman who took him home to meet her family, including her younger sister who was one hot bombshell, and came on to him when they happened to be alone. He excused himself and went out to his car, and found all the rest of the family waiting outside, cheering him for passing the test. And the moral of the story is: Always keep condoms in your car.
He was always a gentlemen, disrespectful to none, and was never on the prowl for prey. He added much to this site, and it is fitting and proper that we should notice his passing.

I agree with you totally. Learning of his death made me feel sad.

I remember that story, Showme. So funny!
It tickled me that he became known as a paragon of virtue, while in fact, he was just being prepared!
I agree, he was an interesting and often funny guy.
I hope where ever his soul ends up, they're enjoying his company!

He was the first to greet me in chat as well. We had a few good conversations about motorcycles and Vietnam. He was a good guy for sure.

Rock,
If my memory hasn't failed, didn't Doggie stand up at your wedding to Marie and I was glad to put a face to one of the great chatters on this site when I saw him in your pics.
I too am sad to know how long ago he passed away. We have lost so many good people from this site over the last 10 years.
I lift a cold one in Doggie's memory.

Yes, he walked Marie down the aisle.
