Intersex Surgery Soon...
I was born with ambiguous genitalia. They (the doctors) gender assigned me as a male. I was born a 46 XY or male (the official diagnosis is 46 XY DSD (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK1547/) gonadal dysgenesis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonadal_dysgenesis) complete with a uterus, streaked gonads (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7106733), chordee and hypospadias (http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/health/h/hypospadias/)). This confirms my earlier hypothesis that I was an intersex child. This certainly explains the 7 surgeries I can recall, and the scars where I don’t recall having surgery.
For 47 of my 55 years I was deceived, lied to, and basically ignored by all the primary care doctors I’ve had throughout my life. They told me that their reasoning for all the surgeries was to get my testicles to descend. This was simply not true. There are no testicles to descend. There are streaked gonads imbedded in the uterus. They never mentioned the uterus. Unfortunately, I am now experiencing complications that require surgery to remove some of the female parts and the streaked gonads.
On Monday March 24th, I will undergo what very few men will ever go through, a radical hysterectomy. They will remove the uterus, ovarian tissue, testicular tissue, and any associated plumbing connecting these organs. They will remove my bullet fragment I collected while living in California in the ‘80’s. They will locate and repair any hernias or issues that are causing me a great deal of pain. As a bonus they plan to remove my gallbladder too. What makes this surgery interesting is the Da Vinci robotic procedure (http://www.valleyhealthsystemlv.com/hospital-services/robotic-surgery) that will be used for most of the surgery. I’m sure it will be a fun-filled day at Summerlin Hospital (http://www.summerlinhospital.com/). Maybe they will give me an ice cream cone if I’m a good boy.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Today I began the fasting and colon clensing, what fun. Hopefully by this time tomorrow surgery will be completed.

Like the others, I wish you a safe operation and hope all goes well for you. I seem to have a good attitude about what has happened to you. Then again, a real awareness that you can not leave your body and you just have to go forward.

You'll be fine, Darlin. With the techno we have nowdays, its going ot be a breeze. Actually, a Gyno friend of mine has told me that more and more Inter Sexed adults have been coming thru their offices in the last 5 years. She herself has attended 5 of these surgeries. :}
I'm sure you'll feel soo much better after your surgery. Keep us posted. If I were still in Ridgecrest, I'd bring ya a plate of cookies..;)
Spirits Bless.

Hey je, I hope it's all over but the fun drugs, and that it went perfectly smoothly as planned. Best wishes for better/quicker-than-expected recovery!

UPDATE: The surgery was a rough one but it was successful. I just need some time to heal and recover. I'm back from the brink. Here's a note for our intersex folks in the group: I thought I would pass along a possible issue. If you have a uterus with a blind sack and you use a testosterone supplement, be aware that it may trigger bleeding and collection of blood into the sack this is what caused me the devastating pain that prompted a trip to the operating room. I had the uterus removed, all gonadal tissue, all the tubing and ducting associated with the uterus, my appendix, and my gallbladder. I was on the table for 5 hours. I'm very sore and expect to be sore for another week or two. Just thought I would pass this on in case someone else has this condition.

Glad everything seems to have gone well. Rest, rest some more. Your body will let you know when you're up for Calvin ball again. Meanwhile, riddle me this; one protagonist whom is probably worthy and capable of wielding power but does not because he prefers family being him, two antagonists whom are not but will likely spare no stupidity and drama to have power/attention. What does protagonist do to solve issue before it becomes an issue, in a manner that excludes drama, excludes or minimizes causing pain? Let your writer's mind puzzle that, see what you can figure, keep your body resting.

Ouch! Oh boy......
That's uncomfortable looking......can't really tell if you have staples or internal stitches.
Interesting how your incisions aren't one continuous cut. I've seen hysterectomy incisions/scars and
none of them were two horizontal cuts like yours. But, then again, you also had additional issues...gall bladder and such.
Dont you worry, friend. Those incisions will heal nicely and next summer you'll be back in that bikini!
Hang in there.....every day is one step closer to feeling better.

(Also, looks fabulous for one week in! Really clean!)

My stepdad was an EMT and he says that in surgery - once you're out - they drag out all the black and decker tools and go for it..drills, saws, etc!
Having said that, I know you said you had robotic surgery but your body has still gone through some major trauma...I'm glad everything seems to have gone well..they seemed more confident once they could see what they were really dealing with? It's funny how facing the truth rather than denial is usually more helpful. Were these the same crackers you were dealing with before, or did they refer you to a specialist? I guess it's important to remember that those folks caring for you are human too, and just as surprised at reality as you are some times.
The most important thing is that you are safe, in the long term your health will be much better as long as you stick to the recovery schedule.. (smiles/hugs)

Whoo Hoo! Glad to see all went well and they you are back with us, Darlin. One IMportant rule please: Take Life Slow for a while. Dont rush about. Give your body time to heal inside And out. I know its hard to do, but just be gentle with yourself for a while, and all will be great. ;)
Keep us posted on how you are doing, yes?
Gentle hug and a Muah to your cheek, and a hug to your lady too..:}
