we are back , we are bad and we are not taking sides....... NZ'ers stand up and be proud of who you are.... because you are more than just a sexuality, you are musicians, artists, comedians, builders, engineers, lovers, partners etc we are people and proud of it...

if you are in NZ or a hop, skip and jump away in australia.... hell even america, britain... the antarctic ...... you are welcome to come and join in aucklands pride week.....

what is auckland pride all about ? its about a community spirit, a pride in being the people we are and moving beyond the LGBT restrictions.... the idea that we are victims of society, outcasts.. a subset..... its about reminding ourselves and others that our lives are so intertwined that there are no divisions, no divides and we need to stop acting like there is... as most of the ones that exist, are the ones that we want to keep alive......

so even if its for a week..... let down your hair and go hard....... and lets see if john key is gonna get down and dirty with us again this year ( john key is the NZ prime minister and enjoys stepping out with the drag queens and gay guys ).....

From all accounts, things are going well for the auckland pride parade, .... one issue that is arising, is the insistence of the media in pushing it as a gay event.. as its more than * another gay event *....

Coming-out-of-hiding (http://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/local-news/central-leader/8307820/Coming-out-of-hiding) Sophie Jayawardene has been living with hiv for 24 years, and now shes telling her story... as a lady with hiv and the impact on her marriage, her life, her children ... and shes straight....

Panel-beaters-Pride-Parade-float (http://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/life/8303428/Panel-beaters-Pride-Parade-float) peter davey has worked hard to create his artistic visions, a gifted artist and a skilled panel beater, hes also a great LGBTA friend and supporter that is going to be a big part of pride week.... and hes straight.....

even tourism nz want to mark pride parade as something to be celebrated, a bit like a NZ version of the mardi gras..... trouble is they want to market it as pride parade... and a gay pride parade..... some people never learn.....

Thousands-support-gay-pride-parade (http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/8314179/Thousands-support-gay-pride-parade) enjoy some of NZ's more colorful people enjoying their week of pride, pleasure and pleasantry

Had been reading the stories all along, interesting when you put them in context. It's all about being proud of who you are not what you are.
