I wanted to ask you this, as it came to my head this morning on my way to Uni... have any of you got more than one homosexual/bisexual/transexual in your family, apart from you? I wanted to ask since in some aspects scientists agree that homosexuality is caused predominantly by biological factors (genetics, prenatal hormones, environment of the mother when she is pregnant, etc,etc,etc...) and some people find that it "runs on the family". For featuring an example, one of my (female) maternal cousins is bisexual. She married when she was really young to a guy (I dont remember the exact age but she must had been on her mid-20s or something like that... we dont really see each other that much, sadly...), her husband later left (she has been trying to have her marriage annuled) and hasnt been seen since that. A couple of years later she started dating a woman and moved in with her. They were together for a couple of years (my mom told me about their relationship but when I asked them about it they denied it, although later I confirmed it with other family members). And lastly, she broke up with the woman and now is going out with an Argentinian guy... so, it maybe runs in the family, after all.

As far as I know, I am the only bisexual on either side of my family.

My elder sister is openly bisexual. She kept it hidden from me and everyone else for years.. not because she was ashamed of it, but because she had seen how I lived my life and didn't entirely approve. She is still mainly a guy person but now and then turns up with a girl and it always brings a smile to me lil face.. I heartily approve!!! She has always been much the more reserved and more conservative of the two of us, and it has been rare for her to have one night stands.. not unknown but infrequent..

I am the only one, either side and the only one in my wife's extended family.. She's OK with it, so that is all that has ever mattered to me..

No, I'm the only "odd" one as far as I know.
Certainly both my sisters are rampantly str8. - As is my older daughter.
I'm reserving judgement on my younger one as she really hasn't started socialising, even though she is 18. (She's a nerd!! I have a nerd as a daughter!!)

Hahaha, you are free to introduce her to me anytime ;) Believe me, I was a nerd when I was her age, but I started to socialize soon after that. And well, tell her the thing that everybody know: "Nerds are sexy" :P

It runs in my dad's family. I have a second cousin in his 60's that is gay. My grandmother was bisexual and her youngest son has identified as gay, trans, bi, and trans/bi over the years. My daughter hasn't come out to me, but I wouldn't be surprised.
I suspect one of my cousins on my mother's side of being lesbian, but she identifies str8 as she is in the Navy.

In my case I wouldn't know as I was adopted, as were my brother and sister, all from different families. Now my wife's family is a different story. She has 12 brothers and sisters- Catholic family, as you would almost guess from those kinds of numbers.
One of her sisters is openly lesbian. She has another sister- the oldest one- that many suspect is at the very least bisexual, but she won't admit it.
Hey; She's been living with another gal for years. They share the same e-mail address and use "We're retired" as a signature in their e-mails. And she always brings this live in gf to family parties.
You'd have a hard time convincing me she's not at least bisexual. I asked the out sister if she thought her sister was lezzie and she said the thought she was but she wouldn't admit it even to her. That could be because the out sister suffered a bit after it became known since this is a very religious anti- homo family and the suspected one doesn't want that happening to her.
So, I'd say that's 2 out of 6 non- heteros on the female side. On the male side, I can't say, as no one is out. There is one brother that I suspect might at least be bi curious as he seems to pay a lot of attention to homo issues and poke fun at me because of it. I often suspect the ones that make the most noise about bi and homo folks are often suppressed bi or homos themselves.
So, I'm guessing maybe 3 out of 12 in her family that I know or suspect are bi or homo.
